Thursday April 12, 2012: Just before 0100 Company 2 and
mutual aid units were dispatched to a reported residential structure fire at 6
Cook Road. Chief 2-2 (Conrad) arrived on scene established command, confirmed a
single story home with heavy fire showing from the roof, and called for the
Working Fire Dispatch. Tanker 2 (FF Buffington) arrived just ahead of Rescue 2
(Capt. May) and two lines were placed in service. Crews began pulling ceilings
throughout the home and found heavy fire throughout the entire loft of the home.
Truck 2 (Lt. Bissonette) arrived and began horizontal and vertical ventilation.
After about 45 minutes control was marked on the incident with the majority of
the fire contained to the rear and loft of the home. Crews cleared the incident
around 0400.
Duncannon was assisted by Companies 8, 9, 10, 12, CC45, and
DC37. CC Engine 20 and DC Tanker 29 handled the transfer assignment for the
incident.
